How the Jesuit Mission Began in Krishnapuram
The Jesuit presence in Krishnapuram grew out of close pastoral engagement with rural families who needed more than occasional support.
As the Jesuits accompanied the people, it became clear that faith formation could not be separated from people’s lived struggles — especially issues related to land, livelihood, and social justice. Families needed someone to walk with them consistently, to listen, to stand with them in moments of fear and conflict.
The mission here took shape not through large institutions, but through presence — living among the people, understanding their realities, and becoming a trusted moral and pastoral anchor in the community.
What we have done
From the beginning, the mission in Krishnapuram focused on integrating faith with justice and community strength. Jesuits and parish collaborators stood with vulnerable families, supported community cohesion, and helped people navigate moments of crisis with courage and clarity.
